"The Radiant Screen"은 러시아 중남부 카라스노야르스크주에 있는 폐쇄된 비밀도시 젤레즈노고르스크에 관한 프로젝트입니다. 젤레즈노고르스크는 1950년대 초에 군사 과학 연구를 위한 극비 장소로 설립되었으며, 예술적 마스터플랜에 따라 유토피아 도시로 설계되었습니다. 이 곳은 1992년까지 우편번호 '크라스노야르스크-26'으로만 알려진 폐쇄된 비밀도시로 공식적으론 존재하지 않았고 지도에도 표기되지 않았습니다. 때문에 소련이 붕괴된 후 이곳 주민들은 바깥 세계와 거리를 두고 폐쇄를 유지할 것인지에 대해 찬반투표를 해야만 했습니다. 그들은 결국 화려한 고립을 유지하기로 결정했습니다. "The Radiant Screen"은 작가 Ine Lamers가 다양한 사람들과 협력한 증거의 그물망으로, 각 참가자는 꿈의 다양한 요소를 반영하고 있습니다. 이네 라머스는 이 비밀도시에 관한 증거, 증언, 기록 문서를 수집했습니다. 그녀가 직접 촬영하고 녹음한 사진으로 구성된 이 책은 '지구상의 마지막 사회주의 낙원'에 대한 다층적인 이야기를 보여주고 있습니다.

“The Radiant Screen “ is a project about the closed city of Zheleznogorsk, hidden in the heart of Siberia. Zheleznogorsk is one of the twelve (still-)closed cities in Russia. It was established in the early 1950s to serve as a top-secret site for military scientific research, designed as a utopian city according to an artistic masterplan. As a secret city, Zheleznogorsk did not officially exist or appear on any maps. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, its residents voted on whether to maintain their distance from the rest of the world and stay ‘closed’. They chose to remain in splendid isolation.’The Radiant Screen’ is a mesh of evidence for which Lamers collaborated with various people, each participant reflecting different aspects of the dream. Lamers gathered evidence, verbal descriptions, testimonies, and archival documents. Combined with her own photographs and produced recordings, this publication presents a layered story of ‘the last socialist paradise on earth’, full of controversy with gaps and glitches.
