"30대를 넘어서면서 나에게 세계는 점점 버거운 것이 되었다. 숲을 거닐며 젖은 흙의 향내를 맡고 뒤엉킨 가지들을 물끄러미 바라보거나 물가에서 지는 해의 윤슬을 지켜보는 것만이 무해한 영역의 시간이었다. 자연은 어머니도 아버지도 되었다. 다정함, 단호함, 끈질김, 노력, 잔인함, 두려움과 공포, 포용, 냉기와 온기, 무한함, 연결과 관계에 관한 많은 모습들이 오고갔다. 그들은 깊이 관여하지도, 방관하지도 않았으며 단지 펼쳐지는 현상들의 처음과 끝을, 그리고 끝에서 다시 시작되는 처음을 보여주었다.
잘라내어 수집한 편편의 세계 속에, 삶 속 뿌리내리지 못한 많은 것들을 비추어 보았다. 삶은 나에게 정확한 형태로 증명하기를 요구했고 나의 응답은 허공에 흩뿌려져 있었다. 무해한 영역 속 보장된 침묵은 생각이 깊고 천천히 움직일 수 있도록 시간을 품을 공간을 만들어 주었다. 모호한 모습은 복합적인 의미를 가지고 있어, 이미지가 된 기억들은 이성보다 자유로웠다. 현재의 기억과 살아있는 감각들이 다른 시점의 감각들과 연결되었고, 내가 선택한 순간들(이미지)에 각기의 시공간이 연결되고 확장되어 하나의 지도가 되었다. 모호한 신호들이 내면의 확신이 되는 순간이다."

“I reflected upon many things that were unable to take root in life, in fragments of the world I cut out and collected. Life demanded that I prove something in exact forms, but my answer was scattered in a void. The guaranteed silence in the realm of nature created a space for me to embrace time, so my thoughts could move deeply and slowly. As obscure appearance carries complex meaning, the memories converted into images were freer than reason. Hence, memories of the present and live senses were connected to senses of other points in time, and time-space—both moving forward and looking back—was connected to the moments I had chosen, further extending to become a map. At that moment, obscure signals became inner conviction”.
