The project “Matière Noire” (Dark Matter) is a utopia, a photographic hypothesis. Dark matter is an obscure component of our universe, representing 95 % of its mass, that astrophysicists around the world are trying to understand. To be able to photograph it, Geoffroy Mathieu had to establish a new paradigm enabling him to identify things, landscapes, situations, and characters in which he can catch a glimpse of the dark matter that passes through them.
