In spite of all the excitement, when British artist Alan Eglinton asked his partner for her hand in marriage, she didn’t say “yes” at first. During the following months, the couple travelled to Eunji’s native country, South Korea, her indecision still lingering in the background.
“Yes No Maybe” takes on the form of a book maquette, a means the artist often chooses to build his projects. The photographs, various repurposed papers and short texts compose a fragmented narrative that takes stock of their couple, their hopes, their doubts, and the cultural gap that lies between them.
“Yes No Maybe (prelude)” is an introductory publication of Alan’s project.
